Australian Bushfire Appeal – Kyogle Shire

Help for Fire-affected Families

Project Description:

Australian families in rural areas are increasingly subject to severe bushfire seasons.  Over the last few years, many families have lost everything.  Government support is often mired in bureaucracy and slow to arrive. In many cases, bushfire victims live in difficult circumstances for years after news footage of the fires has gone from our television screens.

Through our connections in  rural Australia, Dharma Care can move quickly to ensure bushfire affected families get access to immediate necessities such as food, clothing, and household goods. We do this through supplying vouchers from major retailers or local businesses. We work with local community groups such as neighbourhood centres to identify those families most in need.

Your generous tax-deductible donation will support families when they are most desperate for help.

Target: At least $30,000 pa – in preparation for these annual fire events so we can respond quickly.

Last year was a year from hell for us … we lost so much due to the drought and then we had the bush fires.

Words cannot describe the way we felt, even as I write this email I get teary eyed because nobody can understand the constant feeling of hopelessness that comes with the realization that everything you have worked so hard for all of your life was slowly being ripped from you.

Again we can’t thank you enough and please pass on our very heartfelt gratitude to all of your kind-hearted and generous donors.
