Dharma Care: Creating Lasting Impact Across Communities

Transforming Lives Through Compassion and Action

Dharma Care continued its mission to empower vulnerable individuals and build stronger, healthier communities—locally and globally. Through programs addressing homelessness, youth development, education, and health, the organisation made significant strides in creating sustainable change.

Each of these projects reflects our commitment to fostering sustainable, supportive communities and empowering vulnerable individuals to build brighter, healthier futures.   Read the impact report from 2024 for all the details on each project.

Tackling Homelessness in Northern NSW

The Winter Warmer Homelessness Relief Campaign provided essential support to 1,581 individuals across Byron and Tweed Shires—a 71% increase from 2023. Partnering with local organisations, the campaign distributed food, clothing, fuel vouchers, tents, and sleeping bags, while also arranging temporary shelter and transport for those in crisis.

Beyond immediate relief, the campaign helped foster stability and dignity by ensuring access to health services, mental health resources, and communication tools like prepaid mobile phones. A sold-out fundraising cabaret and widespread media coverage further amplified community awareness and engagement.

The program also integrates life skills, health education, and vocational training, offering sustainable pathways for youth development, especially for girls.
