Help for Fire-affected Families
Some families in the Kyogle area of Northern New South Wales lost everything in the 2019-20 bushfires. They struggle to buy food, clothing, linen, and temporary accommodation and toilet facilities on their rural blocks. In many cases they were not insured and the nightmare of their situation will continue for a long time to come.
The NSW Dept of Primary Industries (DPI) have surveyed the needs of these communities. It is registering bushfire-affected applicants for assistance from Dharma Care and other charities.
DPI has told us the urgent need is for essentials – food, clothing, linen, hardware equipment and appliances. In co-operation with our business contacts in Kyogle, Dharma Care is providing vouchers for these products.
We plan to raise at least $10,000 to provide 10 sets of four $250 vouchers from a hardware, clothing, appliance and food store – a total value of $1,000 per family.
Target: $10,000 – Target Achieved

Last year was a year from hell for us … we lost so much due to the drought and then we had the bush fires.
Words cannot describe the way we felt, even as I write this email I get teary eyed because nobody can understand the constant feeling of hopelessness that comes with the realization that everything you have worked so hard for all of your life was slowly being ripped from you.
Again we can’t thank you enough and please pass on our very heartfelt gratitude to all of your kind-hearted and generous donors.
