ACNC Audit - Dharma Care is fully compliant
And finally, we had good news from the Charities Commission recently.
Dharma Care has been a registered charity in various forms since 1981 – forty-one years.
In recent years, however, the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) has significantly expanded its oversight and reporting requirements.
As part of their oversight, the ACNC audits 500 charities each year to ensure they are meeting their regulatory obligations and undertaking genuinely charitable activities. As part of that process, Dharma Care was notified back in May that it was to be audited.
The very excellent news is that after two submissions responding to detailed questions, Dharma Care remains fully compliant having met all their criteria.
We aim to operate with a high degree of professionalism, but it was still good to know we got their tick of approval.
