Homelessness is a major issue in Tweed Shire, NSW
This has been made worse by rising house prices and rental affordability problems, natural disasters, and a shortage of social and affordable housing. Airbnb properties in the rental market have also reduced the availability of long-term rental options. However, there is hope, and communities can work together to address these issues and ensure safe and affordable housing for everyone.
Tweed Shire, NSW, has the greatest number of people sleeping rough relative to other LGAs in the state. One in five people sleeping rough in NSW are in the Tweed LGA.
Long-term solutions are not coming fast enough, and immediate action is needed.
While the housing issue may take time to solve, we can still provide physical support and assistance to those sleeping rough to reduce suffering and help them rebuild their lives. Every effort counts in making a positive impact on their lives.
As winter approaches, our homeless communities face the challenges of sleeping rough in cold, wet, and harsh conditions. Help support those doing it tough in Tweed this winter.

And: Your support will be equally shared among a diverse range of community groups and charities that are helping to alleviate the suffering so many are now going through in the Tweed region.
Donations will help provide safe sleeps, feed many single mothers and children, provide winter clothing, toiletries, food vouchers, vouchers for household goods and clothes, tents and provide new winter warming sleeping bags.
Campaign Goals
We aim to raise $50K to relieve the suffering of hundreds of rough sleepers in the Tweed Shire during the winter months.
We would like to launch the campaign in May, have a benefit concert event planned in June and conclude all fundraising by 30 June 2023.
