Sine Cera in the Time of COVID

For Sine Cera, there have been some real positives to come out of COVID lockdowns.

Understanding and Good Will – Thank You

We have always known that we attract great people to Sine Cera. They come for yoga retreats, family gatherings, health retreats, creative workshops, personal development programs, and much more. But the good-will and good-humour that our guests have shown in working with us to come up with revised dates and other workarounds because of COVID have been wonderful. We have not had one bad experience. We sincerely thank all of those who have hung in with us over the last two years of COVID restrictions.

Renovations and Improvements

Tim, the Sine Cera Manager, and his team have made some large-scale improvements that would not have been possible when fully booked. Some of these jobs have taken many weeks to complete. We have repainted all the internal accommodation areas, rebuilt most of the ramps and decks, created a new set of stairs to the Chalet, redecorated some areas with new curtains, and repainted the exterior of Fahr House and the Dining Hall. We are all excited to see the reactions of our regular guests when they return.

A Larger Team at Sine Cera

Another positive outcome from the last two years has been the addition of new people to share the workload that it takes to keep a large facility like Sine Cera operating smoothly. Besides Tim, the Manager, and Greg, the Assistant Manager, we have two more part-timers, Stephanie and Joe, and two volunteers, John and Karyn. They are an exceptional team who really care about the place and work very harmoniously together – despite the endless good-humoured teasing that goes on. This time of working together on improvements has really bonded them into a fantastic team.

Continuing the Spirit of Sine Cera

Sine Cera Rainforest Retreat was built by Dharma Care forty years ago as a sanctuary for anyone wanting to reconnect with nature, themselves and their friends, family or colleagues. As a charity focused on families and children, we are delighted to offer discounts to other charities and families. That original intention to share a rather special place continues, not just with guests but also with the Sine Cera team

Over many years, we have often received precisely that feedback – that Sine Cera is a special place. Over the last six years that we have been surveying guests, we have averaged a score of 4.7 out of 5 based on 10 questions. That’s a pretty good scorecard.

About Us

Sine Cera is located 2 hours from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Ballina. It adjoins the fabulous Border Ranges National Park. Its wilderness setting and affordable rates for up to 100 people makes it an ideal venue for any workshop or group activity of 15 people or more. In terms of COVID rules to protect staff and guests, all we require is Rapid Antigen Tests from guests prior to an event.
